Annan District is a wide area located in the southwest of Tainan city. It is situated on the west of Yongkang and Anding Districts. Tsengwen River runs along its north border, separating Annan from Sigang and Cigu Districts; and Yanshuei River runs through the south where the district connects with Anping, West Central District, and North Districts. Annan District extends all the way west to Taiwan Strait, with a total area of 107.2016 square kilometers. The entire district has 2,449 hectares of farmland, 3,022 hectares of fish farms, 709 hectares of technology and industrial zones, and 523.848 hectares of wildlife protection areas. The rest of the land is used as residential communities, roads and rivers, and public graveyards. There are 51 li’s and 54 community development associations in this district.
